Barbara's Community Work

Picture
Barbara's committment to community goes beyond her professional life. She has a long history of volunteering in community organisations and groups. Being part of a community is important to personal wellbeing, which contributes significantly to community as a whole.  Barbara is a member of the Rotary Club of Blackwood because it helps her to connect with the people who live and work in her community. She has some wonderful encounters with local people which leads on to connections outside her local area. One such connection is with the community radio station CoastFM. As Director of Membership and Promotions for the Rotary Club of Blackwood, Barbara put a proposal to the radio station to host a program called "Close Encounters of a Community Kind". The program now airs on the second and fourth Monday of each month from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The program supports community groups and organisations to connect with people in communities throughout the CoastFM broadcast area.

Tune in to CoastFM 88.7 to listen to the program. And if you want to be part of the program, contact Barbara on 0429 155 743 or send an email to chappell@aapt.net.au

If you are a community group and would like Barbara to speak to your group, please contact her through the number or email address above.
