Facilitation

Picture
When you take the time and effort to participate in a discussion, training session or personal/professional development activity, you deserve to have the support of a skilled facilitator.

Barbara Chappell approaches facilitation with great delight and enthusiasm as well as considerable skill and knowledge. She is motivated by a desire to foster community and individual well-being through facilitation that is based in collaboration and on the teachings of the Fielding Graduate University Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Participation Program. The program teaches mastery in facilitation by encouraging students to make mindful wise choices. Barbara provides the skill, knowledge and structure for participation while enabling participants to explore and discover what is important to them.

Barbara has developed her natural skills in facilitation through training, research and a commitment to lifelong learning. In 2005, she was a volunteer facilitator for a 21st Century Town Meeting “Port Phillip Speaks”. This innovative approach to traditional town meetings is only one of a number of experiences Barbara has to bring to facilitation. More recently she attended a Coordinated Management of Meaning (CMM) workshop in San Francisco to advance her understanding of the work of Barnett and Kim Pearce on CMM. This work is based in a communication perspective that encourages exploration of our experiences and the meanings we make out of them.

Contact Barbara on 0429 155 743 or chappell@aapt.net.au to discuss your facilitation needs.
